Dr. Felipe Salinas Bonich

Felipe Salinas is a researcher in oenology at Hochschule Geisenheim University, where he will shortly complete his PhD on alternatives to sulfur dioxide in winemaking. His work focuses on the development and validation of plant-based polyphenolic formulations aimed at reducing or replacing SO₂ while preserving wine quality.  Alongside this research, he contributes to projects on CO₂ recovery, aroma capture from fermentation gases, and the integration of artificial intelligence into winery operations and analytical workflows. Felipe has collaborated with industry partners
and academic institutions to bridge scientific innovation with practical application in modern winemaking. His professional background includes hands-on cellar experience and consultancy roles in several wine regions. He is committed to advancing sustainable and technology-driven solutions for the wine industry.
